Frequently Asked Questions

How do I connect my Google Sheet?

Go to the Settings page and look for "Google Sheets Connection". You have two options:

  • Create New Sheet - Creates a new sheet with all tabs set up automatically
  • Select from Drive - Browse your Google Drive and pick an existing sheet
How do I share my data with team members?

Share your Google Sheet normally (click Share in Google Sheets and add their email). Then each team member opens the app, goes to Settings, and clicks "Select from Drive" to pick the shared sheet. The app only accesses sheets you explicitly select - this is more secure than giving blanket access to all your spreadsheets.

Where is my data stored?

All your data is stored in YOUR Google Sheet - you own and control it completely. The app also caches data locally in your browser for faster loading. We do not store your data on any external servers.

Is my data secure?

Yes. Your data is protected by Google's security. We use Google's official OAuth authentication and never see your password. Since data stays in your Google account, there's no risk of breach from our end.

How do I revoke the app's access to my Google account?

Visit myaccount.google.com/permissions, find "Soil Analysis App" in the list, and click "Remove Access". Your data in your Google Sheet will remain - only the app's permission to access it is removed.

What file formats can I import?

The app supports multiple formats:

  • Soil Samples: CSV, Shapefile (.shp), GeoJSON, or ZIP containing shapefiles
  • Field Boundaries: GeoJSON, Shapefile, or ZIP
  • Yield Data: Shapefile (compatible with John Deere and Climate FieldView exports)
Why aren't my samples showing on the map?

Check these common issues:

  1. Make sure you've signed in and connected a Google Sheet
  2. Verify samples were imported successfully (check count on Import page)
  3. Check the Field and Year filters - try "All Fields" and "All Years"
  4. Zoom in - samples appear as markers at closer zoom levels
How do I delete my data?

You have several options:

  • Clear from app: Use the "Clear" buttons on the Import page
  • Delete Sheet: Delete the Google Sheet directly in Google Drive
  • Clear local cache: Clear browser localStorage in your browser settings
How do I connect IrrWatch for NDVI data?

If you have an IrrWatch subscription for satellite imagery:

  1. Go to Settings and find "IrrWatch NDVI Integration"
  2. Enter your API Key and Password from the IrrWatch portal (under API Credentials)
  3. Click "Connect to IrrWatch" and select your company
  4. Go to Import page and use the IrrWatch section to fetch NDVI data by order and date
  5. Toggle the NDVI button on the map page to view vegetation overlays
